八字排盘离不了二十四节气。年柱以立春分界——立春前属上一年立春后属新年。月柱以十二个节为界——立春正月惊蛰二月清明三月立夏四月芒种五月小暑六月立秋七月白露八月寒露九月立冬十月大雪十一月小寒十二月。Bazi chart casting cannot function without the 24 Solar Terms. The Year Pillar is divided by Start of Spring (Lichun) — before it belongs to the previous year, after it to the new year. The Month Pillar is divided by the 12 Jie nodes: Lichun (Month 1), Jingzhe (Month 2), Qingming (Month 3), Lixia (Month 4), Mangzhong (Month 5), Xiaoshu (Month 6), Liqiu (Month 7), Bailu (Month 8), Hanlu (Month 9), Lidong (Month 10), Daxue (Month 11), Xiaohan (Month 12).
很多人搞混了节和气——二十四节气里奇数位置的是节（立春惊蛰清明立夏芒种小暑立秋白露寒露立冬大雪小寒），偶数位置的是气（雨水春分谷雨小满夏至大暑处暑秋分霜降小雪冬至大寒）。八字月柱只用节不用气。Many people confuse Jie and Qi — in the 24 Solar Terms, odd-numbered ones are Jie (nodes), even-numbered ones are Qi (midpoints). Bazi Month Pillars only use Jie, not Qi.
一个常见的错误：以为立秋就是八月了。不对——立秋后是申月（七月），白露后才是酉月（八月）。月柱的序号跟公历月份差了一个月左右。用错了整个月柱就错了。A common mistake: thinking Liqiu means August. Wrong — after Liqiu comes Shen Month (7th Bazi month); after Bailu comes You Month (8th Bazi month). The Month Pillar index is roughly one month behind the Gregorian calendar. Get this wrong and your entire Month Pillar is wrong.
